Primary Purpose:
- The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of various systems used in the organization. Senior Systems Analyst gather and document user requests for future product upgrades and enhancements. Senior Systems Analyst conduct system-wide tests, provide customer and user technical support, and monitor system performance to ensure that systems are operating optimally. The Senior System Analyst lead and mentor HCDE’s Technology Analysts. The Senior System Analyst perform database maintenance, systems integration and database architecture. They collaborate in a team environment to ensure that the HCDE Technology division delivers quality products according to user requirements and established guidelines. This is a technical non-coding position.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experience
- Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) designation preferred

- Strong organizational and time management skills while working in a rapid software and database development process
- Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project based work structures
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Sound communication skills with management, development teams, customers and systems administrators

- Ability to take a technical project from initiation to implementation
Experience:
- Minimum of six years of experience maintaining complex enterprise systems
- Extensive experience with SQL Server and relational databases
- Extensive experience with critical thinking, analytical and information presentation
- Experience with software development methodologies
- Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment
- Minimum of two years of experience working with financial systems – including both the backend database and front end user interface
- Extensive experience working with Crystal Reports and/or an enterprise BI tool
- Experience working as either a power user or administrator in SharePoint is a plus
- Experience in installing and maintaining learning management systems such as Moodle is a plus
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
- Meet with key decision makers and end users to define and develop specifications for system requirements and/or identify and resolve system issues.
- Administer and monitor servers and systems including, but not limited to, SharePoint, Moodle, Application and SQL Servers, ERP, etc.
- Work with SQL Server including database modeling and architecture, data management using T-SQL, custom stored procedures, views, etc.
- Monitor operation of assigned systems and respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
- Assist management in making implementation decisions.
- Create end user documentation and conduct training.
- Monitor operation of assigned application software and respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors.
- Integrate various systems running on different operating systems and design custom solutions for ETL operations.
- Serve as the lead technical expert on ERP systems.
- Leads and mentors Technology Analysts in implementing projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
