Primary Purpose:
To maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment at the assigned Head Start center.
Qualifications:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Ability to safely utilize cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Experience:
- Two years related work experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Model HCDE and Head Start’s mission, vision, and values.
- Implement required safety practices in accordance with all department policies, division procedures, Head Start Program Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards and other local, state and federal regulations.
- Maintain indoor and outdoor facilities in a clean and operable condition.
- Maintain sanitation and health standards when cleaning sinks, surfaces, floors and toilets.
- Clean and properly dispose of waste, bodily fluids, and other potential contaminants.
- Maintain adequate inventory of center maintenance and safety supplies.
- Maintain appropriate health and safety documentation including center checklists and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Actively monitor the facility for health and safety hazards and inform supervisor of any needed facility repairs or potential hazards.
- Assist with the preparation, distribution, and documentation of children’s meals as needed.
- Assist in the supervision of children when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
