Primary Purpose:

  • The Center for Educator Success (CES) is designed to transform educator talent pipelines by partnering with districts to reimagine a comprehensive approach to educator recruitment and retention.  Reporting to the Officer of Elementary.   The Manager of Teacher Support will serve as a critical member of CES’s teacher support team, responsible for designing and delivering inspired programming.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university
  • Texas Teacher certification

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Science of Teaching Reading; STR Exam or equivalent
  • Experience coaching teachers preferred
  • Excellent people skills: able to work in a diverse environment and get along with everyone
  • Ability to learn quickly and take initiative
  • Values hard work and team play
  • Demonstration of flexible thinking and problem solving
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization, time management and follow-through

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in early learning

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate with the CES team to build an impactful and sustainable program model that serves teacher candidates during years 0-3 of service.
  • Generate revenue according to annual targets.
  • Lead HCDE’s Early Childhood Winter Conference.
  • Prepare teacher candidates to teach students to read by teaching the science of teaching reading coursework and test preparation.
  • Serve as a Clinical Supervisor and mentor to support the growth and development of new teachers.
  • Design and deliver professional development and coaching to teachers and leaders to retain early literacy teachers.
  • Support individual growth through calibration, coaching, feedback, and data reviews in both pre-service as well as teacher retention programs.
  • Maintain open, clear, and timely communication with all partners.
  • Serve as a collaborative team member open to giving and receiving feedback.
  • Stive to meet all individual and program goals established by the department.
  • Provide regular updates grounded in data on the progress of teachers and teacher candidates.
  • Instill a passion for learning in teacher candidates by devoting team to your own professional learning and growth.
  • Willingly offer support to others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
