Description

Primary Purpose:

  • To support the daily operations of the Nutrition Services content area and to perform general administrative duties as a member of the program’s administrative team.   

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate, some college preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse populations
  • Ability to consistently provide high level customer service
  • Effective/efficient interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software applications (database, spreadsheet, word processing, email, some desktop publishing)
  • Accurate note-taking skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines
  • Experience with Head Start food service operations preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking and writing skills preferred

                                                          

Experience:

  • Minimum three years of experience providing administrative support.

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Model HCDE and Head Start’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Nutrition Services Manager and support the daily operations of the Nutrition Services team.
  • Develop and maintain various recordkeeping systems, including those for food service operations, meal reimbursement, monitoring, and printing and supply budgets.
  • Submit reports and documents in a timely manner, including those related to maintaining compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
  • Assist with monthly preparation and submission of the Child and Adult Care Food Program meal reimbursement claim.
  • Order and inventory materials for the program, including those related to food service operations and nutrition education.
  • Organize and manage routine work activities to support special projects. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling interviews and appointments, assisting with contract and audit preparation, and communicating with clients and community partners.
  • Assist with preparation for meetings and special evets, including Chef’s Academy and Cook’s Meeting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
